AFSCME Local 411 represents workers across all of Macomb County. There are nearly 900 AFSCME 411 members who work in the Sheriff Department, County Clerks, Register of Deeds, Equalization, Mental Health, Martha T Berry, Treasurer, Public Works, MSU-Extension, Health Department, Reimbursement, Facilities and Operations, Security, Payroll, Human Resources, Radio, Parks and Recreation, Emergency Management, Finance, Tech Services, Purchasing, Pump Station and Public Works, Veterans, Library and the Prosecuting Attorney's Office. AFSCME 411 represents the largest number of unionized employees in the county government. AFSCME 411 employees find food and shelter for the mentally ill, feed the youngest and most vulnerable citizens in the county through the WIC program and assist our county veterans to obtain benefits. AFSCME 411 members provide free medications, assistance with numerous services and therapy to the mentally ill and the developmentally disabled. AFSCME members will assist you in your happiest times with marriage certificates and in your saddest times with death certificates. We will assist you to immunize your children or help you with long-term care for a loved one at Martha T Berry. We will help you pay your property taxes or register your weapons.
